South Hills student achievements for the week of Dec. 5, 2023

Nearly 20 Jefferson Hills Intermediate School students were recognized by the West Jefferson Hills School Board during the October meeting for their efforts in producing the school’s newspaper. The Paw Print News is created by JHIS students who are part of the 5th Grade Newspaper Club. The online newspaper is produced several times during the school year and has its own website. The club’s advisor is JHIS teacher Amanda McWilliams.

The students showed board members the Oct. 20 edition of Paw Print News on the new iPads the district began implementing for K-5 students this fall (students also use their iPads to produce Paw Print News).

Students recognized were Lyla Baiano, Anna Camelo, Declan Dukes, Sabrina Eckels, Sadie Fazekas, Peyton Kaufman, Adeline Koah, Meka Kosanovich, Lyla Mahan, Conor Mcelhinny, Chelsie O’Shell, Sabina Rustamova, Katrina Sanjel, Rosalie Sevigny, Emily Siemon, Sloane Sinclair, Harper Williams, Lillian Wojnar and Marc Ziegler.

Michael Palmer has been accepted for enrollment for the 2023 summer trimester in the doctor of chiropractic degree program at at Palmer College of Chiropractic’s Florida campus in Port Orange, Fla.
