A staffing shortage caused by positive cases of covid, covid-related quarantines and other staff absences is causing 20 Pittsburgh Public schools and programs to go to remote instruction on Monday, the district announced.
Facilities that will be closed on Monday are Arlington PreK-8; Arsenal 6-8; Carmalt PreK-8; Carrick High School; Chartiers Early Childhood Center; Concord PreK-5; Faison PreK-5; Grandview PreK-5; Liberty PreK-5; Lincoln PreK-5; Linden PreK-5; Manchester PreK-8; Miller PreK-5; Montessori PreK-5; Phillips PreK-5; South Hills 6-8; Spring Garden Early Childhood Center; Student Achievement Center; Sunnyside PreK-8; and Whittier PreK-5.
“Grab and Go” meals will be available in each school’s cafeteria from 9 a.m. to noon, the district said.
The district said officials will assess school staffing Monday and announce any closure extensions or additions for Tuesday.
