A man died in a crash on Route 576 in South Fayette after police say he stabbed a woman and a boy in Robinson Township Sunday morning.

According to Allegheny County Police, the stabbing in the 100 block of K Row in Robinson was reported shortly after 8 a.m.

First responders found the boy suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition, police said.

The woman suffered multiple lacerations and was treated at a hospital for minor injuries, police said.

County police said they were stabbed by a man known to them. He fled the scene in a stolen vehicle, which he later crashed along Route 576, also known as the Southern Beltway, in South Fayette, where he was pronounced dead.

County police did not release the man’s name.

State police are investigating the crash.
