SUV flees after hitting man on sidewalk on border of Mt. Washington, Beltzhoover


Detectives reviewing video footage as part of ongoing investigation

A man was in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle that fled early Sunday morning in the area of Pittsburgh’s Mt. Washington and Beltzhoover neighborhoods, according to Pittsburgh police.

Officers from Zone 3 responded to the incident at West Warrington and Boggs avenues around 1:45 a.m.

Officers found a man in the road, unconscious and suffering from a head injury. He was in critical condition when taken to a hospital, police said.

Police said suspects entered an SUV and hit the man while he was on the sidewalk before fleeing on Warrington Avenue.

Detectives were reviewing video footage from the surrounding area as they investigate.
