Triple shooting in Homestead leaves 2 dead, 1 injured
Two people were killed and one other was injured in a triple shooting late Thursday in Homestead, Allegheny County Police said.
Jason Chavis, 25, of Monroeville, and Amari Mitchell, 18, of Braddock died in the shooting, according the the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.
A Homestead officer on patrol heard shots at 11:23 p.m. in the 200 block of East 16th Avenue, police said.
First responders found Chavis, Mitchell and a juvenile male shot multiple times inside a vehicle, according to a police report.
All three victims were transported to area hospitals. Chavis died shortly after midnight. Mitchell died Sunday. Her manner of death was ruled a homicide.
The juvenile male is expected to survive. An updated on his condition was not provided.
Allegheny County homicide detectives are investigating and said they have no suspects or motive.
