A school in Pittsburgh Hill District was on modified lockdown Tuesday after police found guns in an abandoned home nearby, officials said.
Ebony Pugh, a spokeswoman for Pittsburgh Public Schools, said the guns were found at a home on Vancroft Street, not far from University Prep, a grade 6-12 school on Centre Avenue.
A modified lockdown means no one is allowed inside the school building or on the property unless they have a scheduled appointment.
Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV reported officer and K-9s were searching the area around the Vancroft Street house.
