According to Arnold police, a 43-year-old man was found shot multiple times in this area of the 1800 block of Leishman Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2022

A man was in surgery at a Pittsburgh hospital Friday morning after being shot overnight in Arnold, police Chief Eric Doutt said.

The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of Leishman Avenue.

Doutt said the man, 43, was shot more than once. He did not know how seriously he was injured.

The man was being treated at Allegheny General Hospital, Doutt said.

Doutt said a city officer heard shots fired and then heard more heading toward the scene, where the officer encountered multiple people outside and the man down on the ground.

Police recovered the handgun used in the shooting, Doutt said.

No arrests have yet been made as police continue to investigate, Doutt said.
