A man was taken by ambulance to Allegheny Valley Hospital from the scene of a three-vehicle crash in Harrison on Tuesday morning.

The crash on Burtner Road at the Route 28 interchange was reported around 6:50 a.m., an Allegheny County 911 dispatcher said.

The crash involved a minivan that police said was traveling east on Burtner Road toward Natrona Heights; a pickup traveling west on Burtner Road toward Fawn; and a small SUV that was crossing Burtner Road from the northbound Route 28 off-ramp to the northbound on-ramp.

A Harrison officer at the scene said the SUV driver tried to cross Burtner Road without enough clearance.

The man driving the pickup was taken to the hospital by Eureka EMS, police said. A woman driving the minivan was evaluated at the scene. The man driving the SUV did not appear to be injured.

There were no passengers in any of the vehicles, police said.

All three vehicles sustained disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene.
