2 men hurt in 1-car crash in West Deer, power restored to more than 300 customers
Two men were hurt Sunday in a one-vehicle crash on Little Deer Creek Road in West Deer that knocked out power in the area.
Power had been restored to the more than 300 affected customers in West Deer, Frazer and Fawn, according to West Penn Power.
According to West Deer police, the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. on Little Deer Creek Road just south of Bakerstown Road.
Police said Mike Marsh was driving southbound when the car went off the road, hit a utility pole and went down an embankment.
Marsh’s age and town of residence were not available.
Police identified the second man in the car as Luigino A. Asturi. His age and residence were also not available.
Police said both men were out of the car and waiting on the side of the road when first responders arrived.
A West Deer officer described both men’s injuries as minor. Marsh was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh; it was not known to which hospital Asturi was taken.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
Power was knocked out to more than 300 customers in parts of West Deer, Frazer and Fawn because of the crash. The nearby West Deer No. 1 Fire Hall was among those affected.
As of about 5 p.m., West Penn Power reported 146 customers in West Deer without service, 105 in Frazer and 64 in Fawn.
Power was restored Sunday evening.
