2023 Veterans Day events in the Alle-Kiski Valley
Veterans Day events are planned throughout the Valley. Note some events require reservations.
Apollo
• Curran Funeral Homes will host its 20th annual celebration of veterans at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 100 Owens View Ave. Reservations required by Nov. 9. Reservations: 724-478-1244.
New Kensington
• Mary Queen of Apostles School, 110 Elmtree Road, will host a pasta lunch and musical salute to veterans program Nov. 9 in the Greenwalt site gymnasium, 110 Elmtree Road. The school will honor all family members and friends who have served or are serving in the Armed Forces. Veterans should arrive at 12:15 p.m. and will eat a pasta lunch with students at 12:20 p.m. A patriotic music program will be afterward. Veterans and one guest are welcome. Vandergrift
• Vandergrift Historical Society will sponsor a free Heinz History Center program titled “The Vietnam War” at 7 p.m. Nov. 2 in Goldstrum Memorial Hall at the society, 184 Sherman Ave. Reservations encouraged, but not required.

• A Veterans Day program will be at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 on the grounds of the Casino Theatre.
• The Kiski Valley Community Band will perform a benefit patriotic concert at 1 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Casino Theatre. Donations will be accepted to benefit the Vandergrift Veterans Memorial project.
West Deer
• Reservations are being accepted for a Veterans Day breakfast set for 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 11 at the American Legion, 57 Superior Road, Curtisville. Menu: pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee, orange juice and water. Guest charge: $5. Reservation deadline: Nov. 1. Reservations: Kari Biehl at 412-913-9326.
