Allegheny Township

The Light the Season celebration will be from 5:45 to 8 p.m. Nov. 21 at the community building, 136 Community Building Road. There will be free hot dogs, popcorn, cookies and hot chocolate, music, crafts, games and the lighting of the Christmas tree. Santa Claus will be present from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Arnold

The free Letters to Santa Light Up will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 29 in the Roy A. Hunt School gymnasium, 1701 Alcoa Drive. A sensory friendly and calm environment event for those with special needs will be from 2 to 4 p.m. There will be a basket auction, door prizes, free cookies, hot chocolate and cider; face painting, a DJ, photos with Santa, and an opportunity to write a letter to Santa and meet Santa and the elves. Each child who attends will receive a free toy through Toys for Tots. Donations will be accepted. Children must be accompanied by an adult and the venue is wheelchair accessible.

Cheswick

Christmas in Cheswick will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Dec. 7 at the gazebo at Pittsburgh Street and MacLean Avenue. There will be Christmas music by DJ Clem, the opportunity to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus and free hot chocolate and cookies.

East Deer

Light Up Night will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 29 in Memorial Park, 700 Front St., Creighton. Santa will arrive at 6 p.m. and the tree will be lit at 6:15 p.m. There will be vendors and a concession stand with hot chocolate, hot cider, water and s’mores. Children can write a letter to Santa and make a craft.

Harrison

The township recreation board’s Christmas parade will begin at 1 p.m. Dec. 6 at Broadview Blvd. and Alabama Avenue and end at Community Library of Allegheny Valley at Montana Avenue. There will be photos with Santa, snacks and crafts afterward at the library. The Highlands High School National Honor Society will do face painting.

Leechburg

• The annual Luminate Leechburg celebration will be Nov. 29. Registration for the parade will begin at 5 p.m. at the volunteer firehall on Canal Street. The parade will begin at 6 p.m. and proceed down Main Street to Market Street. The lighting of the town holiday lighting and Christmas tree will be afterward.

• A Holiday Market will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 5 and noon to 6 p.m. Dec. 6 in Riverfront Park, behind Sprankle’s Neighborhood Market. There will be food, entertainment and vendors. Donations will be accepted for the Leechburg Food Bank.

Lower Burrell

• Christmas in the Woods will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 13 at Kotecki Park, 730 Wildlife Lodge Road. There will be a candy cane hayride, a petting zoo with live Nativity animals, strolling Christmas carolers, a smores bonfire, children’s crafts, karaoke, food trucks, a warming tent,50-50 raffle and Santa Claus. Donations will be accepted for Toys for Tots and non-perishable food items will be collected for a local food pantry. Parking is limited at the park and free shuttle service will be available from Bon Air Elementary School, 3260 Leechburg Road. Sponsored by the city parks and recreation commission.

• The Christmas parade will begin at 7 p.m. Dec. 13 at the former Stewart School on Leechburg Road. Lineup will be at 6 p.m. To register, contact Rich Lange at RichLang54@yahoo.com.

New Kensington

• The fifth annual Shop Small Crawl will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 29 in the business district. Pickup a map at Voodoo Brewing and collect stamps from each store. Turn in your card for a chance to win a prize.

•The annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony will be at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 5 in downtown followed by the Mayor’s Christmas Dinner at 6 p.m. in the Fourth Avenue firehall. The holiday parade and Cookie Crawl will be Dec. 6 in downtown. The parade will be from 11 a.m. to noon and the Cookie Crawl and horse & carriage rides will be from noon to 3 p.m. Register for a cookie box by visiting tinyurl.com/3j9vwx59 by Nov. 29. Cost: $5, with proceeds donated Sonward Youth. Box pickup will be at noon at the New Kensington Downtown Partnership tent outside of Voodoo Brewery, 956 Fifth Ave. Then visit businesses and organizations using the provided map and fill your box with cookies.

Oakmont/Verona

The Hometown Christmas celebration and parade will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Nov. 22 on Allegheny River Blvd. There will be vendors and entertainment. A parade will begin at 5 p.m. in Verona and proceed to Oakmont. There will be vendors, entertainment and activities. Santa will greet visitors after the parade at the Oaks Theater.

O’Hara

Christmas in Guyasuta will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Nov. 29 at the camp, 300 23rd St. There will be a climbing wall, a zip line, crafts, the opportunity to write a letter to Santa and craft and food vendors. Cost: $20 through Nov. 28; $25 after Nov. 28. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Rain or shine. Tickets: campguyasuta.org.

Plum

• The free Plum Winterfest will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 5 at the municipal building, 2000 Mike Thomas Way. Free transportation to the event will begin at 5 p.m. from Plum High School, Amplify Church and St. John the Baptist Church. There will be a train display, food trucks and the opportunity to visit with Santa. A Santa Shop of craft vendors will be at Renton Firehall, 1996 Mike Thomas Way.

• The Holiday Cinebrunch Celebration will be Dec. 13 in the upper level banquet hall of the borough building, 2000 Mike Thomas Way. Doors open at 10 a.m. and the movie, “Elf” will be screened at 10:30 a.m. A continental breakfast will be served. Cost: $5; 2 and younger, free. Saxonburg

• A Stuff-the-Cruiser toy drive will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 28 at Saxonburg Coffee and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 29 at South Butler Community Library. Bring an upwrapped toy, book or winter clothing gift for donation to the Lighthouse Foundation of Butler County. The Holiday Parade will begin at 7 p.m. Nov. 28 on Main Street.

Springdale

• A free Christmas Light Up Night will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 12 in the borough gymnasium, 325 School St. Sponsored by the borough police department, there will be free food, photos with Santa and fingerprint ID cards for children.

Tarentum

• The Tarentum Brackenridge Christmas parade will begin at 1 p.m. Nov. 22 on Fifth Avenue in Tarentum and proceed to Corbet, then to First Avenue and continue down to Morgan Street in Brackenridge. Lineup will be at noon. Local businesses and restaurants will be open.

• Abundant Joy Fellowship will host a free live Nativity from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 13 in Riverview Memorial Park, First Avenue. There will be a petting zoo, crafts, cookies and hot chocolate.

Vandergrift

• A free screening of the movie, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Casino Theater. Children 13 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Sponsored by Vandergrift Presbyterian Church. Details: 724-568-2917.

• A holiday celebration will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Nov. 28 on Grant Avenue. There will be food trucks, vendors and entertainment. A parade will begin at 6 p.m. and the Christmas tree lighting will be afterward. Visits with Santa and free photos will be available after the parade in the Market Building. Small Business Saturday and Cookie Crawl will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 29 on Grant Avenue. Pick up a cookie box and punch sheet at the VIP Market Building, 134 Grant Ave. and visit participating businesses. Return your completed punch sheet to the Market Building by 4 p.m. to be eligible for a prize. Cost: $5, to benefit Vandergrift Meals on Wheels.

• The Jingle Bell Rock concert will be at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Casino Theater. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Comedian Shaun Blackham will be the host and featured performers will include LTZ, Sourmash, Billy Postle and Linda and Wally from First Light. Cost: $15 in advance; at the door, $20. All seats are reserved. Tickets: 724-567-5049 or casinotheater.org.

West Deer

• A free Breakfast with Santa will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 14 at West Deer Volunteer Firehall No. 1, 1520 Saxonburg Blvd. Doors open at 10 a.m. There will be crafts, toy raffles and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Sponsored by the township parks and recreation board and the fire department.
