2025 Veterans Day Events in the Alle-Kiski Valley
Celebrate Veterans Day
Tuesday is Veterans Day. Each and every one of us knows someone who served or is serving in our armed forces.
One way to show your thanks is to attend a Veterans Day event in your community.
Here is a list of events in the Alle-Kiski Valley that will celebrate our veterans:
Apollo
The Kiski Valley Community Band will present a Veterans Tribute Concert at 7 p.m. Nov. 14 at Apollo United Presbyterian Church, 401 First St. Donations for the annual Apollo Lions Club Veterans Dinner will be accepted.
Arnold/New Kensington
Ar-Ken American Legion will have wreath placement ceremonies at 10 a.m. in Arnold’s Roosevelt Park and at 10:30 a.m. at the White Star Memorial in New Kensington. Breakfast will be served to all participants afterward at the post.
Brackenridge
An indoor ceremony will be at 11 a.m. at the American Legion, 845 First Ave. There will be guest speakers and an honor guard 21-gun volley salute. Public welcome.
Leechburg
The Marconi Club will serve a free spaghetti dinner for veterans and one guest from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the club, 135 River Ave.
Lower Burrell
A ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the flag plaza of Greenwood Memorial Park. The annual parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Leechburg Road and proceed from Schreiber Street to Hillcrest Shopping Center. A service will be at 12:30 p.m. on the deck and helicopter pad area at the Veterans of Foreign Wars on Wildlife Lodge Road. Public welcome at all events.
Oakmont
Oakmont Elks will host a Veterans Day Dinner at 5 p.m. at the lodge, 106 Washington Ave. Free for veterans, reservists and active military members. Guests welcome for $10. Reservations required by 4 p.m. Sunday. Reservations: 412-828-1668.
Springdale
Bells of Peace will ring at 11 a.m. Springdale Veterans Association will have a service afterward at the Porter Street Memorial at the corner of Pittsburgh and Porter streets, weather permitting.
Springdale Township
Veterans and first responders and their families are invited to attend a special service in their honor at 7 p.m. Monday at Valley Gospel Church, 1069 Butler Road.
Tarentum
Alle-Kiski Valley Historical Society will host a tribute to veterans at 2 p.m. Saturday in the museum, 224 W. Seventh Ave. A 50-minute film of local veterans’ memories will be screened.
West Deer
A Veterans Day breakfast will be from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday in the hall of the American Legion, 57 Superior Road, Curtisville. The menu will include pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee and orange juice. Cost is $5 for guests and free for veterans. Details: 724-265-9959.
