Three troopers from the same Alle-Kiski Valley station will be among those honored Thursday by the Pennsylvania DUI Association.

The association will hold is 40th annual meeting through Friday at the Sheraton Station Square in Pittsburgh.

Winners of the Top Gun award for arresting suspected impaired drivers include Cpl. Chris Robbins and Troopers Thomas H. Dubovi Jr. and Nicholas Elliott. All three are based at the Kittanning station.

Robbins has previously received the Top Gun Award. He also is the first trooper and first Pennsylvanian to receive the 2019 Excellence in Drug Recognition award from the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

Robbins and Dubovi are drug recognition experts.

They are two of less than 200 troopers and police officers in state trained to determine if a driver is under the influence of something other than alcohol.

Since becoming certified in 2012, Robbins has performed 471 evaluations of suspected drugged drivers.

This year the DUI Association will present the 1,000th Top Gun award to a trooper or municipal DRE officer.
