4 children injured in truck rollover crash in Fawn
Allegheny County Police detectives are investigating a pickup truck rollover crash in Fawn that resulted in four children being taken to the hospital.
Fawn police Chief Timothy Mayberry said officers were dispatched at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday to a one-vehicle crash on Route 908 and Lardintown Road. He said six people were in the vehicle: two adults and four children.
The vehicle was a 2001 Chevy Silverado truck, according to a news release from the Allegheny County Police Department.
“Speeding may be the cause of the crash, and blood alcohol results are pending,” Mayberry said.
Tarentum police, Eureka Fire-Rescue EMS, Fawn Volunteer Fire Department No. 1 and Fawn Volunteer Fire Department No. 2 assisted with the crash on the scene.
Allegheny County Police Lt. Venerando Costa said county police arrived two hours later to assist.
He said the four children, who are younger than 15, were taken to a hospital for nonserious injuries.
The vehicle crashed into a guardrail then rolled over a hillside, Costa said.
The Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office will make a decision on whether to press charges, Costa said.
