Armstrong County Senior Centers

The Senior Centers in Apollo, Leechburg and Freeport are closed until further notice.

Avonmore Center for Active Adults

Tuesdays and Thursdays: 10 a.m., cards and games.

The center is on Railroad Avenue. Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Details: 724-697-4014. 

East Vandergrift Center for Active Adults

Friday: 1 p.m., Hearts card games.

The center is at 400 McKinley Ave. Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Details: 724-568-2692.

Highland Senior Center

The center is in Dalton’s Edge Complex, 704 E. Second Ave., Tarentum. Details: 724-224-1552.

New Kensington Senior Center

Thursday: 1 p.m., Board of Directors meeting.

Friday: 11 a.m., Advisory Council meeting. 

The center is at 1039 Third Ave., New Kensington. Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Details: 724-335-8597.

Plum Community Center

Monday: 12:30 to 3 p.m., bingo. Cost: $10, includes all games, soft drinks and a snack. Games include 10 regular games that pay $20 each, four specials that pay $25 each and a $150 jackpot game.

Thursday: 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Stroke Support group.

Thursday: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Birthday celebration. Lunch reservations required by Tuesday.

The center is at 499 Center New Texas Road. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays. Details and reservations: 412-795-2330.

Riverview Community Action Corp.

Thursday: 1 p.m., Movie and Popcorn Day. The film will be “The Great Turkey Town Miracle.” reservations required by Tuesday.

Nov. 26: craft workshop to make a bulletin board. Cost: $1. Reservations required by Friday.

The center is at 501 Second St., Oakmont. Hours: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Fitness fee is $3 per class or $60 for 25 classes. Details and reservations: 412-828-1062 or rcacorp.org/events.

Winfield Township Senior Center

Thursday: 10 a.m., coffee time and Leadership; 11 a.m., bingo; noon, Thanksgiving lunch; 12:30 to 2 p.m., cards and games. Bring a snack to share.

Dec. 4: 10 a.m., holiday party with bingo and catered lunch. Menu: stuffed chicken breast, strawberry salad, roasted red potatoes and honey carrots. Bring a dessert to share. Cost: $12. Paid reservations required by Thursday.

Residents 60 and older welcome. The center is in the Winfield Township fire hall, 200 Brose Road, and is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays. Reservations and details: 724-282-3008, option. 6.
