Wilkinsburg man wanted on parole violation taken into custody
A Wilkinsburg man accused of violence against women has been taken into custody.
Laron Robinson, 33, was wanted on a probation violation involving a 2022 case where he pleaded guilty to strangulation and making terroristic threats, Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus said Saturday.
Robinson also is facing an active warrant from Pittsburgh Police, who have accused him of aggravated assault, simple assault and making terroristic threats, Kraus said. Those charges stem from an incident last September in which Robinson’s ex-girlfriend told police that Robinson assaulted her with a knife.
Sheriff’s detectives developed information this week that Robinson was in New Kensington. Those detectives met New Kensington Police at 7:30 a.m. Saturday and proceeded to a Freeport Road home, where Robinson was arrested without incident.
He was in Allegheny County Jail awaiting arraignment Saturday, Kraus said.
