Allegheny Family Network’s north office is located in Suite 10 at 1600 Pacific Ave. in Harrison.

A community shuttle service with added stops at primary election polling locations will be available between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday, Allegheny Family Network North announced Monday.

The shuttle provides free transportation looping from Tarentum to Natrona Heights in Harrison. On Tuesday, there will be added stops to polling locations at Holy Martyr’s Church in Tarentum, Pioneer Hose fire hall in Brackenridge and Citizens Hose and EMS in Natrona Heights.

The full schedule is available online.

There will be two vehicles — a bus and a handicap-accessible van. They will follow the same schedule, said Misty Chybrzynski, a community development specialist for the network.

The shuttle, funded by grants from The Pittsburgh Foundation to Allegheny Family Network North and operated by W.L. Roenigk Transportation, regularly travels through the Highlands community to help single mothers, the elderly and those without transportation get to medical appointments, grocery stores, recreation areas and educational programs.

In announcing the service to polling locations on Tuesday, the network said it knows that obstacles to transportation in the area combined with limited polling locations can impede people’s ability to vote.

Typical shuttle service will resume on Wednesday, the network said.

Due to covid-19, drivers will be cleaning the vehicles after each loop and hand sanitizer will be available. Riders are asked to skip rows of seating to allow for social distancing and to wear face masks unless they have a medical condition preventing them from doing so.
