The bright lights of Hollywood will come to North Apollo in November, closing a nearly 1-mile stretch of Route 66 for a film shoot.

Amazon Studios is scheduled to use the borough as a rural backdrop Nov. 6 and 7.

PennDOT officials said three-quarters of a mile of Route 66 will close at 5 p.m. Nov. 6 through 4 a.m. Nov. 7. The intersection of 18th Street to Glorietta Hill Road/Hickory Nut Road will be off-limits.

Motorists can use Hickory Nut Road to detour.

The film being shot is called “I’m Your Woman.” Produced by Big Indie Pictures and starring Rachel Brosnahan and Arinze Kene, the movie follows a woman forced to go on the run with her child because of her husband’s crimes.

Directed by Julie Hart, the drama is scheduled for release in 2020.

North Apollo is home to about 1,300 people along the Kiski River in southern Armstrong County.
