Lower Burrell’s American Legion, Post 868, along Wildlife Lodge Road is closed until at least Monday because of a verified covid-19 case.

Legion officials found out that one of their patrons tested positive for covid-19 on Monday night, said Post 868 Commander Ed Zollinger. The Legion promptly closed its facilities, he said.

A cleaning crew began sanitizing the building on Tuesday, Zollinger said.

The Legion has identified and notified anyone who they believe may have had close contact with the patron who tested positive, he said.

As of late Tuesday, there weren’t any other covid-19 cases stemming from the patron who tested positive, Zollinger said.

No other details were available late Tuesday afternoon.
