Apollo to get major new waterline next month
Apollo residents are set to get a new waterline coming into the borough.
The Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County will install a high-volume waterline across the Kiski River and into Apollo.
The new line will hook up with existing waterlines starting at South Fourth Avenue. It then will move toward South Warren Avenue and into Kiski Township.
Borough Engineer Rich Craft of Olsen-Craft Associates said construction is set for late October.
It will mean that the Roaring Run Trail will be closed for a “few days,” Craft said. That will allow construction workers to bore under the trail for the new waterline.
