A 26-year-old man died in a crash on Route 422 in Kittanning Township early Sunday morning, officials said.

Armstrong County Coroner Brian Myers identified the man as Cade O. Costigan of Kittanning.

According to Myers, Costigan was driving east on Route 422 around 4 a.m. when his vehicle veered off the road and rolled over several times. Costigan was pronounced dead at the scene.

Costigan was not wearing a seat belt and speed is believed to be a factor, Myers said.

The cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and abdomen, Myers said. Toxicology results are pending.

The coroner’s office was assisted by state police in Kittanning, Kittanning Township Volunteer Fire Department, Rayburn Township Volunteer Fire Department and Kittanning No. 6 Ambulance.
