Armstrong County 911 call centers are back online, after being down for about two hours Thursday.

The call centers were not available to take any calls from around noon to 2 p.m., a county dispatcher said.

A dispatcher wasn’t able to identify the cause of the problem, but said it originated at Windstream, the call centers’ telephone services company.

During the outage, Armstrong residents experiencing an emergency were to:

• Call their local fire departments

• Call 724-548-5105

• Visit the following fire stations manned to handle emergencies: Kiski Township, Leechburg, Worthington, Pine Township, Ford City, Rural Valley and Dayton

• Flag down a passing emergency vehicle such a police car, ambulance or fire truck.
