Arnold police seek man who allegedly attacked 2 men with a gun in separate incidents
An arrest warrant has been issued for a man accused of attacking two men with a gun in Arnold in separate incidents on the same November day.
Arnold police filed charges Tuesday in two cases against Roger Moore, 37. Moore is accused of threatening to shoot the victims, saying he would shoot one in the back of the head and placing his gun in the mouth of the other.
Moore is accused of first attacking a man in a house in the 2000 block of Woodmont Avenue on Nov. 15, then assaulting a second man in the street near Victoria Avenue and Moore Street, according to criminal complaints police filed in each case.
Police said they learned of the first assault after responding to the second.
In the first case, Arnold police learned from Harmar police that a victim was being treated at the AHN Neighborhood Hospital in Harmar, according to a criminal complaint. The man suffered a broken nose and cuts.
The man told police he had gone to his girlfriend’s house, where he encountered Moore, the complaint states. The man said he went there after Moore’s girlfriend called him, as she was trying to find Moore.
When the man told Moore that his own girlfriend was looking for him, Moore told the man he was upset that his girlfriend had spoken with the man, after which Moore assaulted him, the complaint states.
Moore hit the man in the head with a revolver, pointed it at the back of his head and asked if he wanted to die, the complaint states.
When the man’s girlfriend tried to take the gun from Moore, the man told her to let it go in hopes that Moore would leave, the complaint states. Moore told the man not to report the incident and left, police said.
In the case later that day, Moore was found fighting with a man in the street near Victoria Avenue and Moore Street close to midnight.
Both men had suffered significant injuries, the complaint states.
Moore was bleeding from his nose and mouth, and his eyes were swollen shut, according to the complaint. Because Moore was taken to AHN Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, he could not be charged at the time, police said.
The other man suffered a concussion and facial injuries, the complaint states.
The man and his girlfriend said they encountered Moore while walking on Moore Street, police said. Moore began getting closer to the woman after asking her for the time, police said, at which point the man stopped and allowed her to keep walking to get away from Moore.
Moore then hit the man several times with the gun, and told him to, “Give me what you got,” the complaint states. The man was said to have nothing of value on him, according to the complaint.
In addition to hitting the man in the head with the gun, Moore placed the gun in the man’s mouth and threatened to shoot him, the complaint states.
The man took the gun from Moore and threw it out of his reach, after which the man’s girlfriend secured it, the complaint states. It was later found to be a .32-caliber revolver that was not loaded, police said.
In each case, police charged Moore with felony aggravated assault and firearms offenses. He is also faces two felony counts of robbery in the second case.
