Arnold officials are asking for the public’s help in identifying a pickup involved in illegal dumping in the city.
Unknown persons dumped several bags of household garbage at an abandoned house in the 1400 block of Third Avenue, behind the house in Cherry Alley, around 2:14 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, code enforcement Officer Scott Ponteri said Monday.
While those who allegedly dumped the garbage were not seen, the pickup they were using was captured on a surveillance camera, Ponteri said.
The pickup is described as a Ford Ranger with an extended cab. The license plate cannot be clearly seen, Ponteri said.
In images, the garbage bags are first seen in the bed of the truck, then left against the abandoned house.
The pickup was also carrying tree limbs or branches, which were not dumped.
Officials did not search the garbage for any identifying materials because of the coronavirus, Ponteri said.
The abandoned house has been an active dumping site, but had been cleaned up. This was the first time this pickup has been seen there, he said.
“This has been one of our hot spots,” Ponteri said. “We’ve probably made four arrests off the site over the past two years.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the code enforcement office at 724-337-1844, option 1, ext. 7.
