Arrest warrant issued in connection with fight that left Allegheny Township man severely injured
An arrest warrant was issued for a man accused of beating an Allegheny Township resident so severely that he was hospitalized with a collapsed lung, a brain bleed and several broken bones, according to authorities.
District Judge Cheryl Peck Yackopec issued the warrant on Friday for William Gregory Goldberg, whose age, address and other personal details are unknown to investigators.
Goldberg is charged with felony aggravated assault and simple assault in connection with the Oct. 11 incident at a home in the 1200 block of Hancock Avenue.
Police responding to a call for a fight found Ricky Butler bleeding from his nose, according to a criminal complaint filed in support of the charges.
Investigators say Butler declined medical treatment, but the following day police were notified he had been admitted to Forbes Hospital in Monroeville for treatment of “serious injuries,” police wrote in the complaint.
Investigators learned Butler suffered a broken cheek bone, several fractured ribs, a collapsed lung and a brain bleed.
Witnesses told police Goldberg punched Butler in the face before picking him up and throwing him to the ground.
