Aspinwall police announced they have identified a man wanted in connection with two separate incidents of reported harassment and trespassing in the borough.

Police said earlier this week that the man targeted homeowners that display banners and flags with President Donald Trump’s name.

Police Chief Dave Nemec declined on Thursday night to release the suspect’s name or what town he lives in.

He said the man is not an Aspinwall resident, and said the suspect contacted borough police via an attorney Wednesday.

The man is being cited by mail for disorderly conduct and other offenses, Nemec said.

The chief thanked everyone who shared the department and borough’s Facebook posts about the suspect.

Nemec believes the social media pressure likely led to the man turning himself over the phone through his lawyer.

The first incident allegedly involving this man took place in October along Fourth Street.

A man yelled a profanity-laced, repetitive vulgar stream of insults and swatted at a Trump flag and directed his verbal attack toward resident Donald Mazreku.

Mazreku told TribLive earlier this month that he stood in disbelief at the window, witnessing the man’s actions, and motioned with his hand for the man to move along.

Mazreku’s security camera caught the incident. He later shared the video on Facebook.

The second was reported Friday along Third Street.

Ring surveillance camera footage showed a man walking onto the porch of resident Jessica Haggerty, opening a screen door and spitting on the front door and walking away. She also said she had a Trump banner displayed at her home.

Haggerty told TribLive she was in shock and that her son went outside but could not find the culprit.
