An Avonmore man accused of sexually assaulting a girl last spring was ordered to stand trial on four charges against him.

Donald Arthur Haverkost, 58, of Water Street, had a preliminary hearing Wednesday in front of District Judge James Andring.

Andring dismissed four counts against Haverkost, including having sex with the child.

But Andring ordered Haverkost to stand trial in Armstrong County Court on two counts of aggravated indecent assault on a person younger than 13 and two counts of indecent assault on an alleged victim younger than age 13.

Trial has yet to be scheduled.
