A Brackenridge man who led authorities on a high-speed chase from Ohio into Beaver County last week originally crossed state lines to allegedly have sex with a minor, according to authorities.
Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced Tuesday that Adam Hileman, 43, has been charged with compelling prostitution, attempted sexual conduct with a minor, felonious assault and possessing criminal tools after he went to Columbiana County, Ohio, on Thursday to allegedly have sex with a minor.
Hileman also faces a slew of charges in Pennsylvania because when East Palestine, Ohio, police tried to arrest him Thursday, he got into his truck and led officers on a high-speed chase that ended in Brady’s Run Park in Beaver County.
“In true predator form, this would-be john recklessly endangered lives in an attempt to evade capture,” Yost said in a statement. “Kudos to our task force agents and partners in Pennsylvania for protecting the public and blocking his escape.”
Hileman’s arrest follows a sting by the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, Yost’s office said. During the sting, Hileman allegedly agreed to pay for sex with a fictitious 15-year-old girl, telling undercover agents that “he likes them younger.”
On Thursday, Hileman drove to Columbiana County believing he would meet the girl and her trafficker, Yost’s office said.
When police closed in on an arrest, Hileman rammed his truck into an officer and fled, leading police on a pursuit that ended roughly 20 miles away in Beaver County.
During the pursuit, Hileman ran numerous red lights, almost hitting a vehicle and swerving while passing other vehicles in Chippewa, according to a criminal complaint filed in Beaver County, where Hileman faces 43 charges related to the chase.
Hileman then drove into Brady’s Run Park and a nearby gun range. During the chase, he hit and killed a dog, according to the Beaver County Sheriff’s Office.
Charges include felony fleeing or attempting to elude police, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, drunken driving and dozens of traffic violations, according to court papers. A preliminary hearing on those charges is scheduled for Friday in District Judge Daniel J. Viscuso’s courtroom in New Brighton.
When Hileman stopped, he refused to get out of his truck and appeared to consume narcotics, Yost’s office said. First responders administered Narcan before Pennsylvania State Police took him into custody.
Hileman is being held in the Beaver County Jail. He is awaiting extradition to Ohio for the charges in that state.
