A Brackenridge man is accused of stabbing a man during an argument early Saturday.
Tarentum police charged Brandon Bowman, 45, with felony aggravated assault and a misdemeanor count of recklessly endangering another person.
Bowman was denied bail when he was arraigned Saturday, and he was being held in the Allegheny County Jail, according to court records.
Police responded to the reported stabbing in the 1000 block of Pacific Avenue shortly after 3 a.m. Arriving officers found the victim, whose age was not given, sitting in the driveway and covered in blood, according to a criminal complaint against Bowman.
The man had an inch-long stab wound in the center of his back, the complaint said. He told officers that Bowman fled the scene.
Bowman’s ex-wife was on the phone with Bowman telling him to turn himself in, the complaint states. According to the complaint, Bowman said there was no need because he had a gun and was going to shoot himself.
When an officer spoke with Bowman on the phone, Bowman said he did not have a gun but that he was not going to turn himself in “because it can’t get any worse,” the complaint states.
Police searched the area and found Bowman around 5:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of Parkside Drive, about two-tenths of a mile away, where he was taken into custody.
Bowman did not have an attorney listed in court records.
Bowman’s preliminary hearing before District Judge Carolyn S. Bengel is schedule for Aug. 27.
