Buffalo Township supervisors approve 100 new homes for Twin Oaks development
Buffalo Township has given the green light for the Twin Oaks development to add another 100 single-family houses.
The township supervisors voted 3-0 Wednesday night to approve a conditional use petition that will allow the additional houses to be built.
The new units will be built on 60 acres of woods and vacant fields. The property is zoned R-1, residential.
Twin Oaks is a planned residential development for single- family homes along Route 228 and Hepler Road.
The developer, Ryan Homes, is listing Twin Oaks homes starting at $350,000 with three to five bedrooms.
The supervisors on Wednesday formally approved what the developer calls Phases 4 and 5.
A public hearing was held before the supervisors’ meeting Wednesday night.
The hearing was an opportunity for public comments from township residents and Butler County planners, the township engineer and the water authority, among others.
There was no opposing testimony, although several residents inquired about planned green space within the residential development.
The Twin Oaks development got its start in 2017 when supervisors approved the first 42-lot development.
All owners will be part of a homeowners association that will manage the open space and amenities within the site. Public water and sewage will be available.
Five stormwater detention facilities have been proposed to manage runoff from the development before it flows south into an unnamed tributary of Buffalo Creek.
