Building the Valley: Leechburg salon owner expands by adding boutique
A Leechburg salon owner has expanded her footprint in the area by adding a clothing boutique.
Brianne Sofaly, owner of Elevated Hair Co., opened Oak + Pine. The store is online only, but Sofaly said there are plans to have a physical space for customers to shop. The 26-year-old said she had the idea to open a boutique for more than a year.
She said the process began in June, and the boutique was announced in early August.
“We wanted to expand and offer more to our guests,” she said.
Sofaly said her salon has worked over the years to be inclusive and diverse by providing a variety of services, including airbrushed makeup and waxing. She opened Elevated Hair Co. in 2019 and originally ran the shop herself. Her staff has grown to 10 employees.
Sofaly said the salon’s services aligned perfectly with opening a clothing line to add to the beauty experience. The boutique has a boho lounge, alternative and outdoor presence to its style, she said. The theme and name behind the boutique goes along with the salon’s mountain peak aesthetic.
The boutique will offer shoes, sweaters and outerwear for men, women and children.
“We want to appeal to everyone and make them feel at home,” Sofaly said.
As the boutique’s online presence gets rolling, Sofaly said the search continues for a brick-and-mortar home. She said she is deciding on whether to expand the space of the salon to include the boutique.
Sofaly said she looks forward to holding fundraisers and events through the boutique to help local organizations and charities.
Jamie Bieranowski, the manager of the salon, said they are looking to get a bigger space to add more services for the salon, which has outgrown its current space, she said.
“We got way bigger than we thought we would,” she said. “We just want to keep getting better.”
