Two men were severely injured Monday after a car crashed into a building in the 1400 block of Pittsburgh Street in Cheswick.

Allegheny Valley police received a call about a reckless driver on Pittsburgh Street, said Sgt. Craig Cummings.

Around 8:30 a.m., police went looking for the car and found it smashed into the Motor Mart Building.

Two men, one from Harrison, were taken to a Pittsburgh hospital, Cummings said. Police did not say where the other man was from.

The car side-swiped two utility poles before smashing into the building. The poles were still standing.

The building sustained damage with visible cracks above where the car hit.

No one was in the building, according to police.

The first floor is vacant, while there is a business tenant on the second floor, according to a borough official.

Allegheny County police are assisting in the investigation.
