A Tarentum woman suffered a medical emergency before her car crashed into the Pizza Hut in Harrison on Monday night.

Harrison police were dispatched to the crash at around 6:45 p.m. Monday at the Pizza Hut, 3036 Freeport Road, said Chief Brian Turack.

Two people were inside the car when it ran into the restaurant, Turack said. Their conditions were unknown Tuesday afternoon.

The restaurant was occupied at the time of the crash but there were no reported injuries from anyone inside the building, he said.

Citizens Hose Ambulance Co. evaluated the car’s occupants and took them to a local hospital, Turack said.

Citizens, Harrison Hills and Allegheny Valley volunteer fire companies also responded to the crash. Allegheny Valley brought a “paratech” rescue trailer, Turack said.

“That’s utilized when there is a risk of structural collapse,” he said. “The vehicle and building were secured structurally, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.”

“We’re really appreciative and grateful of the volunteer fire companies involved in the incident.”
