The Homeless Cat Management Team will be offering several free and low-cost spay and neuter clinics from June to December in Tarentum.

No-charge clinics for feral cats only will be held on June 22, July 27, Aug. 24, Oct. 5, Nov. 9 and Dec. 7.

“Fast track” clinics, which cost $30 for feral cats, will be June 8, July 13, Aug. 10, Sept. 28, Oct. 19, Nov. 23 and Dec. 21.

The clinics will be offered at 207 Allegheny St.

Advance registration is required, as clinics fill up fast. Walk-ins are not permitted.

The management team is a trap-neuter-return organization that has spayed or neutered more than 1,000 stray, feral and pet cats annually since it was founded in 2000.

Only feral cats are eligible for no-charge clinics. They will be spayed or neutered, given a rabies vaccine and returned to the outdoor location where they were trapped after recovering from surgery. Feral cats must arrive in a standard humane box trap.

Rescue cats are those that have been or will be adopted as a pet after surgery. Both feral and rescue cats can be treated at the “fast track” clinics. They must arrive in carriers.

To register for a clinic, call 412-321-4060 or send an email to cathomeless@gmail.com. For more information, visit www.homelesscat.org/clinic-info.

Volunteers are needed for clinics and to help feed, medicate and play with cats in the team’s care. A link to volunteer is on the team’s website.
