Cheswick residents will have the opportunity on Wednesday to review plans and ask questions about the proposed data center in Springdale.

Cheswick residents will have a chance on Wednesday to see the preliminary plans for a proposed data center just over the municipal boundary in Springdale.

The borough will host an informational meeting at 6 p.m. at its municipal building with Brian Regli, a consultant working with Allegheny DC Property Co., the site’s land developer.

Though it directly borders Cheswick, the site of the proposed center is entirely within Springdale. That means Cheswick officials have no jurisdiction over the site’s design or approval.

Council President Brad Yaksich said residents will have the opportunity to review the plans and ask questions during the meeting, but he doesn’t expect any new details about the center to emerge.

Regli offered the first details and renderings of the site last month at a Springdale Planning Commission meeting.

The commission is set to meet again Sept. 24, when it will likely offer its recommendation to Springdale Council to approve or deny the site’s conditional use application. Council could vote to approve the application as soon as October.+
