Close call! Passing train scuffs side view mirror of tractor-trailer rig parked next to tracks
A tragedy was barely averted Wednesday when a passing train scuffed the side-view mirror of a truck parked next to the train tracks in Natrona.
Harrison police responded to the Vine Street railroad crossing after receiving a report that a train had clipped the side of a tractor-trailer.
Police found that the train had swiped the truck’s mirror. Scuff marks were visible on the mirror on the passenger’s side.
The truck was parked parallel to the railroad tracks.
No injuries were reported. The truck driver was seen standing and talking to authorities, apparently unharmed. The truck was moved onto Vine Street, perpendicular to the tracks, as authorities investigated.
A Norfolk Southern railroad representative at the site said there were no injuries to the train’s crew.
