Officials overseeing a comprehensive plan involving the communities of Brackenridge, Harrison and Tarentum are taking to the streets to get feedback from residents.

A number of “pop-up” feedback sessions will be done over the next month, said Harrison Commissioner Robin Bergstrom, a member of the effort’s 16-member steering committee.

The committee will be heading to places like the YMCA, libraries, parks and senior high-rise buildings to meet with groups that have not been represented to date through an online survey and a June 3 community meeting in Brackenridge, Bergstrom said.

The plan will be used to help guide growth and development in the communities.

With most of the comments so far coming from those over 30, Bergstrom said the committee feels it needs to hear from younger voices.

“We feel like we’re missing the 30-and-under crew,” she said.

Residents of the three communities interested in seeing what’s going on can visit a page dedicated to the comprehensive plan on Tarentum’s website.

The page includes information about the plan, a schedule of events, the project members and documents. The names of all of the steering committee’s members and the professional consultants with Pashek+MTR are also there.

The page includes a calendar of events and a form to send messages to the steering committee.
