A man and woman are accused of stealing merchandise from a New Kensington nonprofit earlier this week.

Habitat for Humanity Allegheny Valley said the alleged theft happened Wednesday at Habitat’s ReStore, which resells donated goods.

“Today at the ReStore, a man and woman (we have them on camera) stole 3 African masks and a set of knives,” the nonprofit posted on Facebook on Wednesday. “To the thieves: I hope you’re proud of yourself for taking money from an organization that builds housing with families in need.”

ReStore Manager Bryan Heyl said the store filed a police report on Friday. New Kensington police didn’t have any immediate information to provide on the alleged crime Friday.
