An informational meeting on the data center project in Upper Burrell has been postponed because of expected inclement winter weather.

Township Secretary Melissa Cortileso said the meeting with data center developer TECfusions was postponed at their request because of the possibility of a significant snow event this weekend.

The meeting was planned for Monday.

Most recent models from the National Weather Service predict more than 6 inches of snow — with up to 15 inches possible in the mountains — could hit Western Pennsylvania this weekend into Monday.

Cortileso indicated the meeting will be rescheduled, possibly at the end of February.

TECfusions will operate a data center at the former Alcoa Research and Development campus in Upper Burrell.

Data centers are large facilities that house equipment, such as computer servers, storage systems and networking devices, for companies and organizations.
