Deer Lakes School District teachers will implement remote instruction for all grades starting next Wednesday, March 25.

Superintendent Janell Logue-Belden said Thursday that these are mandatory school days. Teachers will assess the students’ work based on the curriculum.

“Remote instruction is a virtual school day when students and staff have an opportunity to explore and engage in meaningful learning experiences that are aligned to the curriculum, connected to standards and relevant to the current instructional sequence,” he said. “These days are intended to continue to afford students meaningful learning experiences while remaining connected with their teachers as we all do our best to navigate our way through this unprecedented situation.”

Schools across the state were ordered to close through March 27 amid efforts to stem the spread of coronavirus.
