Deer Lakes School District students will have a shorter spring break thanks to snow make-up days.

The district announced it will use three of its scheduled spring break days — April 18, April 22 and April 23 – as three of its four snow make-up days. The other will be Monday, Feb. 18, which students originally had off for Presidents Day.

The makeup dates were pre-approved by the school board in February 2018 and are posted on the district’s website under “calendar overview.”

The district had to cancel school for bad weather on Nov. 16, Jan. 30, Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.

District officials said parents should notify their child’s building principal if they will have to miss any of the make-up days.
