Democrat Carrie Fox wins return to Tarentum council
Tarentum council will have a least one change come January when a familiar face returns.
Democrat Carrie Fox won Tuesday’s election for a four-year term representing the borough’s 3rd Ward.
She unseated Republican Brian Nolan by a vote of 164 to 76, according to unofficial results from Allegheny County.
“Thank you to everyone,” Fox said. “I am truly humbled. This achievement is a testament to the power of community.”
Fox previously served eight years on council before retiring in 2021.
The 3rd Ward encompasses the West Tarentum neighborhood.
Fox said her focus will be the West Tarentum business corridor, which sees heavy traffic along W. Seventh Avenue.
“I want to clean up the district and make the residents that live there feel a part of Tarentum,” said Fox, who also serves as the borough’s recreation board president.
She said a streetscape project to improve sidewalks and lighting could highlight the businesses there.
“It fuels my passion to make a difference and I am committed to working tirelessly to help Tarentum move forward,” she said.
