Easter activities in the Alle-Kiski Valley
Community Easter events are planned in the Allegheny-Kiski Valley include:
Apollo
• Apollo Assembly of God Church will host an egg hunt April 3 in Owens Grove Park for children 12 and younger. Registration will begin at 2 p.m. Children should bring a basket.
Brackenridge
• Generations House of Worship will host a free Easter celebration at 10 a.m. April 3 at the church, 1160 Parkside Drive. An indoor location will be available for special needs children 18 and younger. There will be a trunk-or-treat with social distancing for children 11 and younger and a scavenger hunt with prizes for children 12 through 18. Food can be purchased from food trucks and vendors on-site.
Freeport
• Freeport Kiwanis will sponsor its annual egg hunt for children age 1 to 10 at 11 a.m. April 3 at Freeport Community Park.
Lower Burrell
• An Easter Bunny Drive-Thru for children in prekindergarten through third grade will be by appointment from 10 to 11:30 a.m. April 3 at city hall, 2800 Bethel St. Children can wave to the Easter Bunny and treat bags will be distributed. Volunteers will follow covid-19 protocols. Registration required. Registration: cityoflowerburrell.com
Oakmont
• A fire truck parade with the Easter Bunny and Chip Chip will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. p.m. April 3 on most of the borough streets. Candy will be thrown from the trucks and there will be no physical contact. The event is sponsored by the Oakmont Chamber of Commerce and Oakmont Volunteer Fire Department. Listen for the fire sirens.
Plum
• A drive-thru Eggstravaganza for borough children will be from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 3 by appointment at the public works facility, 2001 Old Mine Road. The first 750 children ages 10 and younger to register will receive a treat bag. Food can be purchased from food trucks on-site. Plum Rotary will be collecting new socks for the homeless. Tarentum
• Tarentum Recreation Board and Women of the Moose will host an egg hunt at 9 a.m. April 3 for children 12 and younger in Tarentum Park. CDC guidelines will be observed.
West Leechburg
• West Leechburg Fire Department and Police Department will escort the Easter Bunny through the borough beginning at noon April 3. Bags of candy will be distributed to children along the route.
