Election Day: What you need to know
Tuesday is Election Day.
Allegheny County’s more than 890,000 and Westmoreland County’s more than 243,000 registered voters will head to the polls to nominate candidates for state judge, county offices including county execitive, county council, commissioner, judge and sheriff, as well as school boards, local city and borough councils and township supervisors.
Winners from the Democrat and Republican primaries will run for office in the November general election.
Here are a few things to know about Tuesday’s election:
• 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.: Time polls will be open. Voters in line at 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
• 724-830-3150: Number to call for the Westmoreland County Elections Bureau; 412-350-4500: Number to call for the Allegheny County Elections Division.
