Plum School Board has four new members after a slate of Election Day victors took their seats this month.

Jill Klipa, Adam Hill, Tiffany Hyde and Geter Sloan were sworn in to office by District Judge Mike Doyle.

Hill served one term from 2019 to 2023, but the other three are new faces on the board.

The four Democrats ran as a slate, sweeping aside four Republican candidates — three incumbents among them, in the November election.

They join five holdover members of the board: Lindsay Arenth, Michael Caliguiri, Renee Richardson, Michelle Stepnick and Mark Stropkaj.

During a brief reorganization meeting, the new board voted unanimously to appoint Richardson its new president. She’ll take the role formerly occupied by Angela Anderson, who lost her seat last month.

Richardson said serving on the board requires plenty of time and effort, but it also can provide some joy.

“We are ready to get to work,” she said.

Fresh off his election victory, Hill landed the role of board vice president with seven votes. Stepnick earned the other two.

The board will reconvene for its first regular meeting on Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.
