Pumpkin painting will be a part of the upcoming Fall in the Wall celebration. A boy reached for a pumpkin he painted at the Aspinwall Chamber of Commerce Fall in the Wall celebration last October.

Autumn is upon us all, and that means one thing in Aspinwall.

It is about that time for the Aspinwall Chamber of Commerce’s Fall in the Wall.

Food trucks, pumpkin and face painting, magicians, pony rides and plenty more are in store for residents and visitors at the annual celebration on Commercial Avenue and Alley A.

Food vendors scheduled to attend include Little Nicky’s, Smashed N’ Fried, Syrian Aroma, Frankie’s Sausage, Kona Ice and Delina’s EthioCafe.

People are also encouraged to check out the shops along Brilliant Avenue and First Street. They may be having special Fall in the Wall sales.

“We consider it a winning formula,” said Chamber Executive Director Giuseppe Francioni. “It’s probably the most attended, most popular events that we hold.”

Several hundred people participated in last year’s festivities.

“It’s all based on the weather,” Francioni said. “You get nice weather, we’ll have every kid in Western Pennsylvania there, or at least, it will seem that way.”

There will be informational booths from community organizations such as Aspinwall Neighbors, Allegheny RiverTrail Park and the Boy Scouts of America. Borough police and firefighters, as well as first responders for neighboring communities are expected to attend.

Folks should also expect to see a variety of borough officials participating.

“Fall in the Wall is yet another event that showcases all the great things about Aspinwall,” council President Tim McLaughlin said. “Our business partners, community spirit, and the safe walkability to enjoy it all. I love everything about it.”

Hosting Fall in the Wall and other chamber activities is a labor of love for Francioni, an Aspinwall resident and graphic design business owner.

“I’m part of the community there, and Aspinwall is unique,” he said. “We engage in events and get the community out and showcase the streets and neighborhoods in Aspinwall. It’s ‘got it going on.’ We’re the cat’s meow. That’s what I think.”
