A family on a boat in the Allegheny River near the Tarentum Bridge was pulled ashore by a Jet Skier when their vessel took on water Saturday afternoon.

A family on a stalled boat in the Allegheny River near the Tarentum Bridge was pulled ashore by a Jet Skier when their vessel took on water Saturday afternoon.

First responders were dispatched to the marina about 2:20 p.m. One of the passengers, who declined to give a name, said they were out for a few hours when he noticed the boat wouldn’t start. A river rescue team was ready to be deployed until it was discovered a passerby on a Jet Ski was able to tow the Crestliner to the riverbank.

No injuries were reported.

Eureka Fire-Rescue-EMS Chief Brad James checked out the boat after it was pulled out of the river and informed the family one of the plugs at the end of the boat was not a boat plug. He recommended they get a new plug with an O-ring.
