Responders work Wednesday morning to clear Route 366 in Washington Township after a fatal collision between a vehicle and tractor-trailer. The accident happened about a half-mile from the intersection of Route 66 and Route 366.

A Greensburg man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning along Greensburg Road (Route 366) in Washington Township.

Andrew Allen Malarkey, 37, was driving a Kia Forte eastbound when his car crossed the center line and collided with a tractor-trailer rig, according to the Westmorland County Coroner’s Office. He was traveling alone.

The accident occurred shortly before 10 a.m. near the intersection of Washington Road, Washington Township police Sgt. Vincent Surace said.

Malarkey, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Sean R. Hribal. The cause of death was blunt force injuries.

Greensburg Road was closed in both directions in the area of the crash, and vehicles were diverted onto other roads. The crash scene is not far from the intersection with Route 66.

Surace said no other injuries were reported.

Washington Township police are investigating the incident and will release additional details at their discretion, according to the coroner’s office.
