Apollo police have charged a man with six felony counts after they say he sold heroin to an informant.

Mark David Bowser, 58, of Whittier Street, Vandergrift was charged with four counts of possession with the intent to deliver drugs, two counts of criminal use of a communications facility and eight misdemeanor drug possession charges, according to court documents.

Bowser was targeted in Oct. 1, 2020 during in a joint investigation between the Armstrong County’s Narcotics Enforcement Team and borough police, according to a criminal complaint. Charges were filed against Bowser on Feb. 25, court documents show.

Investigators said an informant arranged by telephone to buy drugs from Bower and then met with him to make the exchange, the complaint said.

Baggies containing an undisclosed amount of heroin and methamphetamine were confiscated from the informant and Bowser was arrested, police said.

He faces a preliminary hearing before District Judge James Andring on April 20.
