Firefighters from multiple departments battled a house fire near the site of the Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve in Fox Chapel on Tuesday morning.
The fire was reported around 10 a.m. at a residence on Dorseyville Road that is not associated with the nature reserve. It was mostly knocked down by 11 a.m.
The house appeared to be badly burned, but no injuries were reported, according to authorities.
Fox Chapel, Dorseyville, Southern Allegheny Valley and Pleasant Valley were among the departments that responded to the scene. Fire hoses were run about a quarter-mile from a private road through a wooded area to reach the house.
Dorseyville Road was closed in both directions while crews battled the blaze. The road reopened just before noon.
Fox Chapel Volunteer Fire Department’s Station No. 2 is across the road from Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve, only about a quarter-mile from the home.
The fire did not affect operations at the nature reserve.
Utility crews including Peoples and Duquesne Light also responded to the scene.
The Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the blaze.
